Sol Marie Doran, MA, LMHC, SEP is a somatically & ecologically-oriented counselor committed to wellness through connection with self, community, & nature.  She views a variety of symptoms as having a modern cultural context, such as a lack of adequate community, ceremony or ritual, connection with nature, meaningful work connected to one's gifts, natural movement, or various other soulful endeavors. Nevertheless, she believes in finding ways to thrive.

She has worked with counseling clients since 2011 & with children in various capacities since 1995 and was a nature connection mentor and trainer for 18 years. She engages training and practices regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion and is affirming of BIPOC, LGBTQ+ clients, and those with alternative relationship styles. Sol graduated in 2012 with a master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Somatic Concentration from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State and is certified in the Somatic Experiencing Method®,  a body-based trauma resolution methodology founded by Dr. Peter Levine. She is a Somatic Experiencing Method® training assistant and an approved session requirement provider for beginning level students.

Her other influences include various cultural creatives, leaders, and mentors, including Kim Scanlon (No Solos- Expressive Arts, Ritual, & Mentoring), Michael Meade (Mosaic Voices- Mythologist & Storyteller), Sonya Renee Taylor (The Body is Not an Apology); Katy Bowman (Nutritious Movement- Biomechanist), Steve Hoskinson (Organic Intelligence- Therapist & Trainer), Jon Young (8 Shields Nature Mentoring- Naturalist-Mentor & Storyteller), and Susan Harper (Continuum Movement). She is also influenced by Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and nature mentoring work.

Sol is a white settler with primarily European ancestry working on Snoqualmie tribe traditional land. She recognizes the oppression and genocide of indigenous peoples locally and globally, the horrific history of slavery, and the continued traumatic forces of racism, white supremacy, anti-queerness, and the patriarchy.
